A glimpse at the Mentawai Syndicate

Started in 2007, it is the first surf company completely run by locals in the Mentawai Archipelago.  Its mission is to provide a full service surf trip through sustainable tourism and integration with the indigenous people of the island. The company is unique in that it is completely run by locals who have all the  knowledge and insight of where the waves are at any given time.  They run 4 different boats that have all the ammenties and comforts a travelling surfer needs.  They also have a surf camp on one of the islands.   In addition the company runs a jungle trek guided by indigenous people through one of the islands.
